Electrocution, rusted or rotten pole which may fall over. People seem to think because their pole is galvanised that their pole is indestructible. In reality due to the electrolysis the gall is stripped at the base of the pole which then allows the pole to rust due to the moisture and oxygen surrounding the pole.
No just because your pole looks ok, doesn’t mean anything. Is it live? Will it electrocute someone? Is the metal rusting or does the timber pole have any termites or rotting? Are any of your connections damaged?
Did you know your power supply company is only responsible for the infrastructure up to your property line, therefore, you may be responsible for any power poles on your property.
The home owner is responsible for their own power pole, its up to the home owner to maintain the poles integrity and to organise annual inspections of their pole and point of attachments.
